Last week, part time PhD student Alexandra Correia had her Viva Voce for her PhD titled “An examination of inter-business cooperation by wine and tourism small and medium-sized businesses in the Douro Valley of Portugal”. Alexandra was awarded her PhD subject to a few minor changes.
Alexandra commented on the experience:
“The completion of the PhD represents the fulfilment of a very much awaited goal. Writing the thesis was simultaneously a challenging journey and a greatly rewarding learning process.
Having the opportunity to be supervised by such a good supervision team (Professor Roger Vaughan, Professor Alan Fyall and Dr Philip Alford) made this an unforgettable and enriching experience.”
Alexandra continued “The final step – the Viva Voce, as part of the all experience, was equally gratifying. In the end, having achieved the PhD makes me to look back and be 100% sure that this journey and all the associated efforts were worthwhile.”
Congratulations from everyone in the School of Tourism to Alexandra on this incredible achievement!
