With an Open Day fast approaching, you’ve got plenty of questions for our AskBU team. Here are some that lots of you have been asking…
Are you still taking applications for BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing for February 2016 (University Centre Yeovil)?
Yes, we’re still taking applications for students who wish to study this course at the University Centre Yeovil. Please highlight in your personal statement that you’re applying for February 2016 and confirm the campus for which you would like be to be considered.
If you wish to be considered for February 2017, applications will be taken from November 2015. Make sure you tell us in your personal statement that you’re applying for February 2017 and confirm the campus for which you would like to be considered.
I’m interested in studying your BSc (Hons) Midwifery course, can I get on the course without Biology?
Biology or Human Biology is key to this course and a required subject to allow your application to be considered. Our Admissions Team looks for 340 tariff points from three A-levels or three A-levels and one AS-level, or equivalent qualifications. This must include 80 points from a required subject. For BTEC Extended Diploma, offers will be subject and grade specific, particularly in the science subjects.
I’m not happy with my chosen uni and would like to transfer to BU, is this possible?
We sometimes consider transfers from other universities, but am sorry to say that we’re now closed for this academic year. You’re welcome to apply through UCAS for the 2016 intake.
What is the UCAS deadline for September 2016 applications?
You should complete your application by 6pm on Friday 15 January 2016.
We’re registered to join you for the 24 October Open Day, but we’ll be travelling a long distance and would like to know where we can we stay the night before.
That’s great to hear you’ll be joining us for our Open Day here at BU, we look forward to meeting you!
I’m afraid we’re unable to offer any accommodation during your trip to Bournemouth, but you’re very welcome to visit the Bournemouth Tourism website.
3 miles away from our Talbot Campus (BH12 5BB), there is a Premier Inn situated at the Bournemouth Westcliff Hotel.
If you’re visiting our Lansdowne Campus, there is a Travelodge and Premier Inn situated in Christchurch Road, approximately a 10 minute walk from Bournemouth House (BH1 3LH).
What do I need to bring with me to the Open Day?
Just yourself and your guests, maybe some comfy footwear to explore our fantastic facilities here at BU! Copies of the day’s programme will be available at the Information Point.
What is the UCAS course code for BA (Hons) Business Studies?
It is N100. This applies to any of the pathways as the first year is the same for all on the Business Studies courses, then you specialise in your second year.
