Unlike a majority of the other courses at Bournemouth University, The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (HSS) are based across the Lansdowne campus. The faculty is split into three departments; The Department of Nursing and Clinical Sciences, The Department of Human Sciences and Public Health and The Department of Social Sciences and Social Work.

The campus is split across four locations/buildings in Lansdowne; Bournemouth House, Studland House, Royal London House and the Executive Business Centre, all of which are within a 5-minute walk of one another. Bournemouth House is where the main Lansdowne library is based, so students who are based here do not have to travel to Talbot to access library facilities. Studland House is where the skills labs are based, where practical assessments and seminars are carried out, with labs created to represent acute hospital wards, community settings, and maternity wards, to name just a few.

The faculty covers many professions, including Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Clinical Exercise Science, Social Work, as well as many postgraduate courses.

A majority of degrees studied in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences include mandatory work placements, with some courses such as Nursing having placement to academic study split 50/50. Students can expect to complete placements across Dorset and surrounding areas, all of which help greatly with putting academic study into practical learning.

Overall, The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is well developed and focused on ensuring students receive the best quality education possible. The range of resources across the four buildings, including the library, skills labs, lecture theatre and learning areas, are modern and help benefit learning to further ensure students have access to everything they need to make the most out of their time in the faculty.
