Supported by BBC Sounds and Global, the 2024 Student Radio Association Awards took place on November 19th at the O2 Arena in London.
This annual event celebrates the outstanding achievements of students in the radio and audio community, bringing together hundreds of attendees from across the UK. It’s a chance to honour the incredible work accomplished over the past year.
Our day began with an early train journey to London, navigating the underground to reach the Bauer Media studios. There, we were treated to a guided tour of the studios that are home to legendary stations like KISS FM, Magic FM, and Absolute Radio.
As evening approached, the current Nerve Radio committee and last year’s committee came together to celebrate their incredible accomplishments throughout the year.
By the end of the night, Nerve Radio walked away with three awards:
- Best Interview: Kitty Nixon and Hannah Clubley for their Summer Ball interview with Badger
- Silver in Best Programming Event: FM Week Dylan’s Takeover
- Silver in Best Multiplatform Initiative: The Round The Clock Radio Challenge
It’s worth noting that Nerve Radio wasn’t nominated for any awards last year. Fast forward to this year, and not only did last year’s committee secure three wins, but they were also nominated for five awards in total, including the prestigious Best Station category!
This unforgettable evening has left us feeling motivated and determined. The current committee is ready to give everything we’ve got to represent Nerve Radio at its best. Who knows what next year’s awards will hold?
