I am Esther Fowowe, a 25-year-old international student from Nigeria, currently studying for my Master’s degree, LLM International Tax Law at Bournemouth University. I was privileged to be awarded the Faculty of Management Dean’s International Scholarship which was a £6,000 (50%) reduction in my tuition fee.

After my initial application to study at Bournemouth University, I received emails from the university giving me recommendations of the available scholarships I could apply for. I made my application and was awarded the scholarship in recognition of my outstanding educational profile.

Winning this scholarship was a great experience for me, as it helped me realize that hard work from my undergraduate study paid off. It further helped reduce the financial burden on me and thereby a fulfilment of my aspiration to study in a unique environment such as Bournemouth University.

Life at Bournemouth so far has been amazing and so many opportunities, in both my academic and social life, have been opened up. I have also made great friends from around the world.

To future students, my advice is to not be afraid to give it a go, make applications with a positive mind set and be ready to experience an amazing life at Bournemouth University.
