This week Tom Wainwright was invited to be a keynote speaker at the Quality Improvement for Surgical Teams Conference hosted by Northumbria NHS Foundation Trust in Newcastle. To an audience of 240 surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and physiotherapists from across the UK, Tom was asked to present an update on his work coordinating the international ERAS Society Hip and Knee guidelines, and also in-hospital rehabilitation modalities after hip and knee replacement.
Tom said, “It was great to see Mike Reed and his colleagues again. Northumbria are one of the exemplar centres for hip and knee replacement in the UK. I’ve come back to Bournemouth with plans for future collaboration across a number of projects”.
