Alessandra Queiroz Russell

Lecturer in Law

Alessandra Queiroz Russell is a Lecturer in Law at Bournemouth University and a member of the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy and Management (CIPPM). She joined Bournemouth University (BU) as a Lecturer in September 2021. She is the Programme Leader for the Level 7 Solicitors’ Apprenticeship, and teaches and leads undergraduate and postgraduate law units, including SQE-aligned modules in Business Law and Practice, Solicitors’ Ethics and Conduct, Solicitors’ Accounts, International and Domestic Tax Law, and Legal Writing. Moreover, she delivers lectures and leads Contract and Tort Law, Corporate Law, Employment Law, Finance Law, and Negotiation.

Alessandra is a qualified Barrister and Solicitor, certified Arbitrator, and International Negotiator, with professional experience in Brazil, UK, USA, and Portugal. She holds a master’s degree in Civil Procedural Law (UNIFOR – Brazil) and holds an LLM in International and Commercial Dispute Resolution from the University of Westminster, UK, where she served as a Visiting Lecturer leading and teaching LLM modules in International Tax Law and International Negotiation. She is currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCert) and developing doctoral research in International Tax Law and Sustainable Development.

Alongside her academic career, Alessandra has held senior legal roles in multinational corporate, Executive, Legislative, and Judicial settings. She worked as a tax lawyer for a multinational enterprise, served as legal adviser within municipal Executive and Legislative bodies, and acted as a Tribunal Judicial Adviser and Court Conciliator Judge in civil and tax matters, specialising in dispute resolution and public law.
