In 2024, Dr Suelen Carls was awarded a prestigious Leverhulme Visiting Professorship to host Professor Mohamed Amal for a six-month residency at CIPPM/BU. Professor Amal, a worldwide renowned scholar in the field of International Economics and Business has extensive experience in Latin America and will explore the key connections between international business, international law, and Intellectual Property (IP) strategies in emerging markets.
The three-part programme, put together by Professor Amal and Dr. Carls, invites attendees to explore the economic, legal, and strategic issues shaping Latin America’s place in the world. Lectures offer essential insights and regional perspectives. Seminars invite lively exchange on diplomacy and global partnerships. The Research Methods Workshop equips you with practical tools to investigate how IP strategies, trade, and investment connect. Together, these sessions are designed to spark ideas and build connections across disciplines and perspectives. The programme concludes with a special presentation session in January 2026, where participants share their work and receive feedback from an expert panel.
