The new Solicitors Qualifying Assessment and Qualifying Work Experience – Challenges and Opportunities

Presentation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)

Bournemouth University

27 January 2020 – 12:00 – 14:00 – room FG06 (Fusion Building)

The centrally set standardised assessment, the Solicitors Qualifying Assessment ‘SQE’ is due to replace the Legal Practice Course ‘LPC’ and to commence in 2021.  The Training Contract will be replaced by the Qualifying Work Experience ‘QWE’.  This event is an opportunity for solicitors’ firms to understand and discuss the challenges posed by these changes and identify what is required to ensure a smooth transition for both firms and training solicitors.

Richard Williams, Policy Associate, Education and Training at the SRA will visit Bournemouth University on the 27 January 2020 and will give a presentation on the forthcoming SQE and QWE.
