Maurizio Borghi at Europeana Licensing workshop

CIPPM Director Maurizio Borghi has presented his project on Crowdsourcing diligent search at the 3rd Europeana Licensing workshop on “Crossborder solutions to Extended Collective Licensing”, Luxembourg 20th and 21st November 2014. The workshop was part of the Europeana Awareness project by the Bibliothèque nationale de Luxembourg, Kennisland and the Institute for Information Law (IViR) of the University of Amsterdam, on the legal framework for cross‐border licensing of copyright protected works in Europe. On his presentation, Maurizio has discussed a solution for mass digitization of orphan works based on crowd-sourcing certain phases of the process of “diligent search” of rightholders. The solution is part of a broader project on mass digitization of cultural items, for which he received the Google Award last summer.

The programme of the workshop is available here.
