New for the academic year 2016/17, is the Global Talent Programme (GTP). The GTP is about helping students to develop and evidence the attributes they need to succeed in today’s global workplace. The GTP brings together BU’s central extra-curricular employability offer under one banner subsuming the Student Development Award and Post-Graduate Development Award. On this page you will find out a bit more about the programme, what it entails, and how you could help support it.
What is the Global Talent Programme (GTP)? This unique programme has been created with employers to help students demonstrate they have the attributes needed to work in a truly global way, crossing physical and cultural boundaries to deliver outstanding results.
How does it work? The GTP focuses on themes key to the global workplace of the future: global citizenship, collaboration, skills development, research and innovation. These are relevant attributes employers are looking for – regardless of what degree or discipline students are studying. Being part of the GTP involves just a few hours of a student’s time a week when they will work towards achieving a number of badges (dependent on their level of study) and ultimately the Global Talent Award. To gain badges, students will need to engage in a series of lectures and events, undertaking various activities and online challenges. They can also use their interests in all kinds of extra-curricular activities.
