Mara Catalina Aguilera Canon

Mara comes from Colombia and has a background in Mechanical Engineering. She is currently working as a virtual reality/augmented reality system developer at Bournemouth University, in the National Centre of Computer Animation.

Her PhD, titled ‘Machine learning and interactive real-time simulation for training on relevant total hip replacement skills’, focused on developing digital tools that could be used to assist in the training of acetabular reaming.

Mara completed her PhD in 2021.
