Current Appointment(s): Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon, Warwick University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Biography:

My name is Farid UD DIN. I am from Pakistan. I joined Poole Hospital in 2010. Before coming to Poole I was trained as general surgeon and have completed my training as plastic surgeon. After I joined Poole Hospital it changed my direction towards Orthopaedic surgery. I got all my trauma and Orthopaedic training in Poole and Royal Bournemouth Hospital mainly. I am working as trauma and hip arthroplasty surgeon in both Poole and Royal Bournemouth Hospital. I have successfully completed my fellowship exam in trauma and ORTHO in 2018. I am working towards completion of my training towards specialist registration and hoping to complete at the end of year 2019. I enjoy playing badminton and basketball and love playing cricket as you can imagine being from Pakistan. I quite like the idea of cycling and was very inspired by Professor’s passion for cycling but did not get permission from my wife and as an obedient husband and father of two just confined myself to badminton and hip replacement.

Comments on time as Prof Middleton (ORI) Fellow:

I met professor in 2010 when I joined Poole Hospital. I really come to know him when I started working him as his fellow. I found him a great teacher an excellent surgeon and a superb mentor. I have not only learned how to do hip replacement but how to manage your time and how to keep balance of family and professional life. I found professor very meticulous about things and he is always aware about the people who are associated with him and he has helped his fellows and associates in developing their career as consultants. Professor is always keen on developing and introducing new ideas and he is always on top of the new technology.
