Edward Tayton is nearing the end of his Hip Fellowship under Professor Middleton at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital, and he will leave to take up a post as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
After qualifying from The Royal Free (UCL) in 2002, Edward undertook his Higher Surgical Training within the Wessex Deanery. He took time out form this programme between 2010 to 2012 to undertake a PhD with the Bone and Joint Research Group at the University of Southampton as a MRC Research Fellow. His area of research was into novel polymer scaffold skeletal stem cell composites as potential synthetic bone graft substitutes. Edwards shares the results of this research and other work in his presentation.
