The ORI team were delighted to present three research papers on robotic assisted hip surgery at the European Hip Society Meeting in Lille, France earlier this month.
Former ORI clinical fellow, Mr Joe Pagkalos (now Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham) presented the work, having helped to complete the analysis during his fellowship year with Prof Middleton.
Prof Middleton said, “The papers presented examined the learning curve of adopting the technique, how the technique has helped to reduce hospital length of stay, and how to maximise theatre efficiency whilst using the technique. They represent an update of our continuing research and innovation in the field of robotic surgery, and follow our other recent publications in this area.”
