“My Experience at ORI” by Student Research Assistant Katie Webb

“As a recent Psychology graduate I decided to explore my options within the field. I was luckily given the exciting opportunity to work alongside ORI on a research project, exploring how mental health smartphone applications are implemented and their impact on mental health. This was part of a larger future project researching how such applications can be incorporated into total hip and knee replacement apps to improve rehabilitation after surgery. This role vastly improved my knowledge in research and taught me new skills which I can take with me in life, making me a more attractive prospect to future employers in such a competitive field. This opportunity has also allowed me to learn about a very interesting area of research, and given me a clearer career direction following my degree. I would like to thank the team, who were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful during my time at ORI.”
