How my international experience in China enabled me to become a Global Talent

Who was going to tell me that I was going to visit China! unbelievable! Such a great surprise at the end of my MSc in Marketing Management.

I am a Spanish student who has been living in England for nearly five years and, believe me, time flies! I have learnt how to squeeze my time until the last drop. Additionally, because of this master’s degree at BU, I have learnt a lot about marketing and people. People from many places, Taiwan, Thailand, England, Germany, and many more, such a great enrichment! This is one of the main characteristics of BU, it embraces people from all over the world and they are doing very well! The Destination China programme was another proof of this amazing international idea, and being one of the participants was an incredible experience for me!

The skills and experiences I gained through Destination China helped me become more aware of differences and similarities between cultures. However, at the end of the day, all of us pursuit the same: happiness. This is the moral of the history. In order to be successful in this task, every country shares, communicates, enjoys their own values! Bearing in mind that, somehow I have become a global talent, ready for spreading my new knowledge!

In regards to my future development, therefore competitive advantage, the contacts and friends that I made in China will be essential for my potential PhD at BU. Well, this is my dream! But, why not? I always say dreams are a vital part of our development (and for free!).

I want to encourage BU students to become internationally-friendly! With experiences such as Destination China or Malaysia we can grow together, support each other, learn from other cultures and make the world a better place to live. Knowledge is power!

I really enjoyed my visit to China, I would do again and again! If you know how to make the most of your time (remember that life is short!), this is a good programme to be part of. I have developed new skills, such as basic Chinese language (well, understanding of the Chinese writing, beginner level), communication and presentations skills, teamwork skills, Chinese spice food skills, among others.

All of this new attributes and competencies make me want to grow even more, meet new challenges and share my experiences with you all.
