TheDepartment for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has published the lastest statistics on Horizon 2020 funding highlighting the importance of EU funding to UK institutions for Higher Education.
The UK received a share of 16.6% of EU funding for EU member-states coming second in rank of total EC funding: this funding has allowed Britain to continue to excel in science and research. The data reveals that the UK received £2.8 billion in total, with 6,485 individual UK participations.

The statistics demonstrate the importance of EU funding for UK universities and the need for the UK Government to stand by its commitment to underwrite competitive bids for Horizon 2020 funding as Brexit negotiations process.
