53% of Britons would support pro-international student policy

DailyBUzz-1024x553The results of a recent ComRes poll which surveyed 2,018 Britons on behalf of UUK suggests that Government has picked up the wrong message about the free movement of people in relation to the Brexit vote.  International students are once again in the spotlight as Downing street emphasises international students will continue to be seen as ‘immigrants’ and thus treated with the same restrictions.  However, poll results indicate that just under a quarter of Britons see non-UK students as immigrants, while actually 44% say they would like the current number of international students to remain the same, with a significant 53% saying they support boosting the UK economy by increasing the number of non-UK students studying here in the UK.
