Two Reports: OECD & UKCES

DailyBUzz-1024x553Today’s Buzz is to draw attention to two reports.

The OECD’s Trends Shaping Education 2016 was published last week on the 22nd of January 2016 and looks at major trends impacting education’s future.  The report covers topics such as globalisation, nation-states, cities, families and new technologies, and then sees how these factors influence education and what their relevance is to education.

Another important report worth highlighting is UKCES’s Employer Skills Survey 2015 report which came out yesterday.  The study reports on the experiences of employers at the establishment level through examining over 91,000 employers in the UK.  ‘It explores the skills challenges that employers face both within their existing workforces and when recruiting, their use of the skills of their staff, the levels and nature of investment in training and development, and the relationship between skills challenges, training activity and business strategy.’
