Indian Ministerial Delegation

Portraits-029I can’t quite believe how quickly a month passes – my participation in the UK delegation to India with Jo Johnson, MP, and Sajid Javid, MP, in early December  – still feels quite fresh in my mind.

It was a fantastically busy and beneficial trip with so many highlights – it’s hard to pick just one. I did really enjoy meeting with so many Indian students on the trip. One of these visits included meeting students at the Bombay Scottish School in Mahim where our VC, Professor John Vinney, showcased the opportunities that the UK as a destination offers Indian students, introducing our vision for developing Global Talent.

It was also great to witness a number of new projects and initiatives being launched during the visit, like the GIAN initiative aimed at academic staff mobility with a focus on talent and skill development. Yet more evidence of how India is poised to become a hub for Global Talent, and how we in the UK and at BU, might be able to strengthen further the ties we have with HE in India.
