Dr Suelen Carls, on behalf of Bournemouth University, has been awarded a prestigious Leverhulme Visiting Professorship to host Professor Mohamed Amal for a six-month residency at CIPPM/BU. Professor Amal, a worldwide renowned scholar in the field of International Economics and Business has extensive experience in Latin America and will explore the key connections between international business, international law, and Intellectual Property (IP) strategies in emerging markets.
During his stay, Professor Amal will examine how multinational companies influence and shape IP frameworks in Latin America. By addressing these issues from a regional IP context and the perspective of multinational companies’ strategic action. His work will provide new insights into the factors driving institutional changes and economic integration. Professor Amal’s visit in 2025 promises to enhance our understanding of global business landscapes, foster academic collaboration, and offer invaluable learning opportunities for our students and community.
