Mr Jop Antonis
Date of Fellowship: June 2016 to June 2017
Current Appointment(s): Consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Medinova Clinic Rotterdam
Biography:
Born and raised in a small village in the south of the Netherlands, obtained my medical degree in 2006 (Maastricht), and finished my orthopaedic residency in 2014. I’ve worked as a locum orthopaedic consultant in several Dutch hospitals, and did my hip fellowship in 2016/2017 in Bournemouth. After another locum job, I’ve started working as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in 2017.
Comments on time as Prof Middleton (ORI) Fellow:
I had a very good time as a hip fellow in Bournemouth. Learned a lot, worked with great colleagues, was able to work independently in theatre, with back-up if needed. As a hip fellow, I was able to work at ORI, participating in orthopaedic research, mainly on virtual reality arthroscopic trainers, under the professional guidance of Tikki and Shay, and supervision of Tom and Prof Middleton.
