Recently, some of the team at ORI headed to Edinburgh for the International Clinical Trials Methodology Conference 2024. The poster, titled ‘Fire, floods and pestilence: challenges of delivering an RCT comparing a group exercise and education intervention with usual care in the time of COVID-19’, explained the challenges that were faced during recruitment to NIHR funded CLEAT study, led by Professor Wainwright. Amongst several others, the poster was displayed for the 1,200+ attendees to view.

The conference covered many topics and provided a great overview of current research in a range of different areas, such as trial management, patient and public involvement, data monitoring, and trial designs.
