ORI’s Prof Tom Wainwright Ranked Among Top Orthopaedic Researchers Worldwide

We are proud to announce that Professor Tom Wainwright has been recognised by Stanford University and Elsevier in the prestigious “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list for citations in 2023. He is one of 21 academics associated with Bournemouth University included in this global list, which features 223,152 researchers from all academic disciplines. Notably, Professor Wainwright was ranked 208th out of 1,673 researchers in the field of Orthopaedics and achieved the top ranking among those listed in the combined fields of Orthopaedics, Nursing, and Clinical Medicine.

This recognition highlights the hard work and dedication of the entire ORI team, alongside our outstanding industrial and clinical collaborators, partners, and institutions. In response to the achievement, Professor Wainwright shared:

The report, led by Professor John Ioannidis of Stanford University, compiles a comprehensive and publicly accessible database of the world’s most-cited scientists. It spans 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields, using standardized citation metrics.
