The Call for Papers for the International History of Public Relations Conference (IHPRC) 2016 has been launched. The seventh IHPRC will be held on 6-7 July 2016 at Bournemouth University in southern England.
The ‘her-story’ of public relations, which emphasizes the under-researched role of women in the formation and expansion of public relations, will be added to the already wide range of conference themes, said conference chair Dr Tasos Theofilou.
“The worldwide expansion of public relations has been mainly told from a male perspective. From the early 20th century women were involved as practitioners, educators and researchers. It’s time that greater focus is given to the ‘her-story’, especially as women are the larger gender in PR employment,” he said.
The first key date is Monday 14 December when Abstracts are due. A worldwide academic peer review panel will assess them. Authors will be advised in late January 2016 about acceptance of their abstracts for development into conference papers and presentations.
