{"id":795,"date":"2012-10-17T08:30:14","date_gmt":"2012-10-17T08:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/?p=795"},"modified":"2016-03-10T14:05:15","modified_gmt":"2016-03-10T14:05:15","slug":"tourism-management-students-field-trip-to-jersey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/2012\/10\/17\/tourism-management-students-field-trip-to-jersey\/","title":{"rendered":"Tourism Management Students Field Trip to Jersey"},"content":{"rendered":"<a href=\"http:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/files\/2012\/10\/DSC_0741.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-796\" src=\"http:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/files\/2012\/10\/DSC_0741-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Last week our Level C Tourism Management got the chance to go on a 3 day trip to Jersey to learn about Jersey Tourism.<\/p>\n<p>The students travelled to Jersey by ferry on Friday 12<sup>th<\/sup> October and arrived just after midday after a very rocky journey!<\/p>\n<p>Once they arrived they met with Jersey Tourism Marketing Manager, Simon Le Huray and Jersey Conference Bureau General Manager, Hamish Reid.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday the students split into two groups for sightseeing around the island. The students got the chance to visit La Hougue Bie, the Jersey War Tunnels and Mont Orgueil.<\/p>\n<p>In the afternoon the students got the chance to visit La Mara Wine Estate for a tour and tasting session.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening students had a 3 course dinner provided to them by the University at the Farm House in Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, students were free to explore the island by themselves before returning on the ferry that evening.<\/p>\n<p>Philip Long, Associate Dean of Tourism, who attended the trip commented \u201c<em>The recent field trip to Jersey for level C tourism students was a great experience for all concerned.
