{"id":57,"date":"2011-06-01T13:50:27","date_gmt":"2011-06-01T13:50:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/?p=57"},"modified":"2011-06-01T13:50:27","modified_gmt":"2011-06-01T13:50:27","slug":"bu-hosts-seventh-iccas-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/2011\/06\/01\/bu-hosts-seventh-iccas-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"BU hosts seventh ICCAS Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_58\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/files\/2011\/06\/iccas.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-58\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-58\" src=\"http:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/files\/2011\/06\/iccas-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Professor John Edwards at the ICCAS conference at Bournemouth University\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-58\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Professor John Edwards at the ICCAS conference at Bournemouth University<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Bournemouth University recently hosted the 2011 International Conference on Culinary Arts and Sciences (ICCAS), which this year attracted international participants from across 19 countries.<\/p>\n<p>The seventh ICCAS conference, co-organised by Dr Heather Hartwell and Dr Peter Lugosi in BU\u2019s School of Tourism, built on the success of past programmes by drawing together individuals and organisations from a variety of disciplines, where experts and practitioners exchanged ideas, presentations and themes of mutual interest and benefit regarding foodservice.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011 the conference \u2018came home\u2019 to its place of origin, and Dr Hartwell expressed her \u2018delight\u2019 that delegates were invited back to BU on the South Coast, which is home to the Foodservice and Applied Nutrition Research Group, part of the International Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Research.<\/p>\n<p>The conference received the highest compliments from visiting delegates. Dr Edward Bottone of Drexel University, USA, said that \u201cbeing in Bournemouth for the first time, I was intrigued and impressed and wished I could stay longer. Should we be so fortunate, we would feel privileged to present again in the future\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Suzanna Bliss of AUT University, New Zealand also expressed \u2018sincerest thanks for all the hard work and effort that contributed to a fantastic ICCAS\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Hartwell herself reflected that: \u201cwe are delighted with the response, not only did delegates praise the academic programme but they also welcomed the time networking with fellow research.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bournemouth University recently hosted the 2011 International Conference on Culinary Arts and Sciences (ICCAS), which this year attracted international participants from across 19 countries.
