Julia became Managing Director of Advantage Travel Centres in July 2013 with responsibility for running the business on a day-to-day basis as well as developing the strategy and vision for the company.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previously, as Leisure Director for Advantage, Julia oversaw the leisure travel function for the company where she was responsible for delivering best-in-class commercial and tactical arrangements across a wide portfolio of business partners, on behalf of around 750 member leisure outlets.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a wide-ranging role, Julia was involved in driving the cruise strategy providing members with exclusively negotiated special rates, offers and commercial benefits. Advantage generates circa \u00a3200m in cruise sales per annum – an increasingly important sector within the industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Advantage Travel Gateway, a multi-channel distribution technology providing members with access to aggregated leisure product, was launched in 2010. Originally driven by Julia the Gateway underpins the core leisure strategy across the business.<\/span><\/p>\n

Having worked her way up to her current position, Julia has been at Advantage for 18 years. Julia has been an ITT board director since 2011, and in 2012 she was inducted into the Women’s 1st Top 100 Club for Travel and Hospitality.<\/span><\/p>\n

After studying travel and tourism at college she started her travel career with a brief four months working overseas before joining WH Smith Travel for four years, until they were acquired by AT Mays, and latterly absorbed by Thomas Cook. Julia then held roles with Balkan Holidays and The Best Travel Group before joining Advantage.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
