Bournemouth University is hosting the April meeting of the local (Southern Section) group of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. Presentation will last approximately one hour followed by a question and answer session and networking with light refreshments<\/p>\n\"bTerminal-entrance-latest\"<\/a>\n

The speaker \"andrew\"<\/a>is Andrew Murray, Senior Planner with the Manchester Airports Group who will deliver a presentation on the Development of Bournemouth Airport as a member of the Manchester Airports Group.\u00a0Andrew Murray is a Senior planner with the Manchester Airports Group and is also the Airport\u2019s representative on \u2018Connect Dorset\u2019 a sub-committee of the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). Since coming under the ownership of MAG there have been significant developments at the airport including a new terminal building and new airlines and routes attracted.<\/div>\n

In peak years the airport handled over 1 million passengers. It has been an eventful year for Bournemouth International Airport. It awaits with interest the Government decision on the development of a runway at Heathrow or Gatwick and the impact that may have on airports in the region. Although 2015 was a year of passenger growth for the airport and the future looks bright there have also been some disappointments. Royal Mail has withdrawn its presence and in November 2015 the Airports third largest airline FlyBE announced its withdrawal of services after only 6 months of operation.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
