{"id":1397,"date":"2013-03-19T09:22:44","date_gmt":"2013-03-19T09:22:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/?p=1397"},"modified":"2013-03-19T09:22:44","modified_gmt":"2013-03-19T09:22:44","slug":"managing-director-of-chewton-glen-gives-guest-lecture-and-presents-students-with-prizes-for-the-master-innholders-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/2013\/03\/19\/managing-director-of-chewton-glen-gives-guest-lecture-and-presents-students-with-prizes-for-the-master-innholders-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Managing Director of Chewton Glen gives guest lecture and presents students with prizes for the Master Innholders Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<a href=\"http:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/files\/2013\/03\/DSC_2779.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1398\" title=\"DSC_2779\" src=\"http:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/tourism\/files\/2013\/03\/DSC_2779-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Last week the Hospitality Management students were given a guest lecture by Andrew Stembridge, Managing Director of the Chewton Glen Hotel and the Clivedon Hotel.<br \/>\nAndrew is also Chairman of the Masters Innholders and is a member of the International Executive Board for Relais &amp; Ch\u00e2teaux<\/p>\n<p>Andrews shared his experiences of all the different jobs he has had within the industry:<\/p>\n<p><em>I\u2019ve always said yes to everything and its served me very well, that\u2019s been my approach throughout life\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Andrew continued to provide insight and advice to the students <em>\u201cI do believe in legacies, whatever job you\u2019re doing or whatever you\u2019re doing you should leave behind legacies. I only go into things if I know I can leave it better than before.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Following on from sharing his experiences with the students, Andrew took part in a question and answer session.<\/p>\n<p>After his guest lecture, Andrew, awarded our students who took part in the Master Innholders Competition with prizes. The Master Innholders is one of the largest and most influential groups who represent the Hospitality Industry.<\/p>\n<p>This year our team from Bournemouth University came 2<sup>nd<\/sup> in the competition.
