What can SUBU do about the barriers for students taking part in physical extra-curricular activities?

We asked during Speak Week what barriers you might have for taking part in physical extra-curricular activities.

Lack of time (4) – Working with the University and SportBU to make Wednesday Afternoon’s lecture-free so that students can take part in extra-curricular activities.

Expensive activities (3) – We are currently investigating the prices of our Activities, and looking at ways we can make them more affordable.

Lack of information, support, too competitive (4) – We are analysing our methods of communication, ensuring we have information across a variety of platforms; on and offline to reach our diverse range of students. Our new (for this year) Sports and Culture officer on the Activities Council, and amendment to the Sports Societies officer role, have been put in place to ensure work is done to help bridge the gap between competitive and non-competitive sport and activities.
