Yes – Working with SportBU, AFCB and Victoria Education Centre, the SUBU VP Activities and SUBU VP Welfare have now set up an ‘Inclusion Sports League’ that will be launching in October 2017, giving students with disabilities the opportunity to take part in competitive sport. This has been included in SportBU’s Participation Sports programme too!
Yes. A motion was passed at the Big Student Meeting that SUBU must lobby for vegan food options at all outlets, and as a result Dylan’s, The Student Shop and Chartwells have expanded their menu to increase the options for other dietary requirements.
Yes. SUBU were aware that some students were unhappy with the level of detail in the information given to them about their course costs. Yes – Last year the SUBU Democracy and Equality department worked with SUBU’s VP Welfare and the Student Carers Officer to introduce the Family Zone at the Freshers’ Fair. We hope so. Last year SUBU worked with a student who wanted to do just that, alongside others to deliver a ‘Living with Autism talk’, so that other students and staff can hear their experiences of what it is like having autism and studying at university.
Yes – SUBU bought two new microwaves for B130 in and one was put into the Engine Rooms.
SUBU put on numerous mental health awareness events such as a Time To Talk coffee morning and a cross campus University Mental Health Day.
