To wake up on results day with a rejection can be daunting, and it can feel like the end of the world considering that everything you have worked for seems to have not been good enough; but you can’t think like this. This is a chance for you to sit back, reflect, and considering you’ve passed your A-levels, sell yourself to universities. Don’t forget that they want to fill spaces, and if you have the grades they want you there in September starting your degree.

I can’t tell you not to panic, because you’re only human, and of course you’re going to be nervous, you might cry, you might get angry, you might just not want to deal with any of it, but you must not lose faith and hope, and think that you’re not going to make it to University because you will! As long as you put your mind to it, you can do it.

Coming to Bournemouth was probably the best thing that could have happened to me. I’ve made amazing friends, amazing memories, I love living by the sea, and to be honest, I’m dreading going into my final year because I don’t want to leave! If I didn’t go through Clearing I don’t know where I would be now, but I don’t mind or care because right now, with the help of Clearing, I’m exactly where I should be.

By Sorcha Homer – BSc (Hons) Psychology

Admitting that Clearing actually worked out for the best can be hard as you didn’t get your first choice of University, but most people I know that went through Clearing agree with this.
