Include money for emergencies<\/li>\n<li>Draw out money each week and\u00a0have that as\u00a0the only money you\u00a0can spend<\/li>\n<li>If you shop in a particular shop regularly, get their loyalty card- this will save you money<\/li>\n<li>Go for the best value for money, but not necessarily the cheapest<\/li>\n<li>Only take cash on a night out, leave your card at home<\/li>\n<li>Research banks, with some there\u2019s a thing call &#8220;save the change&#8221;.\u00a0 It rounds payments to the nearest pound and it transfers the difference to your saving account<\/li>\n<li>If you live with people, shop and cook together when you can. It&#8217;s often cheaper and easier to get a large pack of something than to get lots of individual size packs<\/li>\n<li>Buy all toiletries from the pound shop (there still the branded stuff)<\/li>\n<li>Use compare websites to find best deals on food shops or any big purchases<\/li>\n<li>Keep an eye out for whatever student discounts are around<\/li>\n<li>If you insist on attending a gym then <a href=\"http:\/\/studentportal.bournemouth.ac.uk\/things\/sportbu\/\">Sport BU<\/a> offer a very good membership rate to all students<\/li>\n<li>Invest in travel cards<\/li>\n<li>Work where you shop then get staff discount<\/li>\n<li>Drink before you leave the house on a night out (not too much of course)<\/li>\n<li>Skype people instead of calling them- this\u00a0 makes it more personal too<\/li>\n<li>Get help with health costs \u2013 students are entitled to some help with paying for prescriptions and dental care, so check it out<\/li>\n<li>Avoid credit and store cards \u2013 this is only bound to build debt<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your washing is a full load every time<\/li>\n<li>Take packed lunches to Uni<\/li>\n<li>Make presents and cards instead of buying them<\/li>\n<li>Try not to impulse buy \u2013 this is harder than you think<\/li>\n<li>Check your bank balances regularly; this will make you realise how much you are spending and allow you to budget<\/li>\n<li>Get your hair cut at a beauty college not an expensive salon<\/li>\n<li>Share lifts and taxis when you go out<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I hope this list helps to save you some money, also, don\u2019t forget to check if you\u2019re eligible for any <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bournemouth.ac.uk\/futurestudents\/undergraduate\/funding\/index.html\">grants or bursaries<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are just a few tips to help you save money while at university; you will be surprised what can help: Shop around, don&#8217;t just go to one supermarket\/shop Make a budget and stick to it.
