Choosing clothes.Pre-drinks.Going out.Taxi\u2019s. Coming back. I suppose nightlife is part and parcel of being at university and it\u2019s what most students look forward to. FRESHERS! A week of tangling with the people you have just met, trying to remember which flat and door is yours and finding out which night clubs are good on which days of the week. Well, I can\u2019t help you on the first two situations but I can share some advice on which clubs to go to on different days. If there\u2019s one thing you\u2019ll get good at whilst in Bournemouth it\u2019ll be finding out when the best student night are in each of the bars and clubs. One thing I can assure you of is that Bournemouth is a very student orientated town and most of the clubs\/bars do have student nights (because let\u2019s face it, no one really wants to be in the club\/bar when it\u2019s all middle aged folks!) But before you get here take a look at this list.<\/p>\n

Monday – <\/b>Vodka Revolution\u2019s. A plush bar and restaurant that transforms into a club after hours.<\/p>\n

Tuesday \u2013<\/b> Bournemouth University Students\u2019 Union has its very own night club \u201cThe Old Fire Station\u201d. Situated on one of the main roads in town, it\u2019s very hard to miss. On Tuesday, feel free to pop in to \u201cMilk!\u201d a night of indie\/rock music with inexpensive drinks!<\/p>\n

Wednesday \u2013 <\/b>Stay in, I\u2019m sure you have work to do!<\/p>\n

Thursday \u2013 <\/b>Lola Lo, my personal favourite. Located right in the middle of town it\u2019s another one that\u2019s very difficult to miss. This student night is one that should not be missed!<\/p>\n

Friday \u2013 <\/b>Once again feel free to go to \u201cThe Old Fire Station\u2019s\u201d very own \u201cLollipop\u201d but this time with pop\/R\u2019n\u2019B music<\/p>\n

\u201cHow on earth am I going to pay for all these nights out?!\u201d Said no student ever! But don\u2019t forget about budgeting. On a typical night, you\u2019re going to have to spend money (the real task here is trying not to spend your entire student loan). Think about what you\u2019re going to wear, how are you going to get there and back, how much is pre-drinks going to cost and don\u2019t forget buying tickets\/entry fares. I know, I\u2019ve done it again, made something that is supposed to be fun, be boring, but I have to so you don\u2019t get any surprises during the night. Here\u2019s a breakdown for an average night at say. . . Lollipop at \u201cThe Old Fire Station\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Clothes<\/b> \u2013 Right, remember everything is on a budget, so I\u2019m thinking a retail store that\u2019s not too expensive, New Look for instance<\/td>\n\u00a320<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Taxi\u2019s<\/b> (Getting there and back) \u2013 It\u2019s \u201cThe Old Fire Station\u201d practically walking distance from the halls in town<\/td>\n\u00a30<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Pre-drinks<\/b> \u2013 Make sure that you\u2019re not too intoxicated before you club otherwise you might not get in!<\/td>\n\u00a36 (a bottle of wine?)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Entry fare<\/b> \u2013 since it\u2019s \u201cThe Old Fire Station\u201d it\u2019s not too expensive if you buy the tickets prior to being on the door<\/td>\n\u00a33<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Drinks at the club<\/b> – \u00a31.50 you can\u2019t really go wrong with them<\/td>\n\u00a38<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Yes, this does seem a lot to spend on one night, but there are tips to cut this down. Such as: not buying a new outfit for every night, mix and match! ALWAYS buy ticket prior to getting there, tickets on the door are usually more expensive, so you can save a few pennies by ordering before.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re going to \u201cThe Old Fire Station\u201d then walk there, this saves money being spent on taxi\u2019s which, if not used carefully may end up costing a small fortune by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

So, there you have it folks, where to spend, how to spend and what to spend it on. Hope this helps<\/p>\n
