Each student has their own en-suite room with a 3/4 double bed, a full-length mirror and a good amount of storage space. Each flat has a communal kitchen and living area and if you are lucky enough you will have an incredible view all over Bournemouth, from some angles you can even see the sea. Even if your flat is not high up enough you can still enjoy the view from one of the common rooms.

The bigger common room is on the 12th floor, it has a TV and plenty of furniture to chill and socialise. The other common room is combined with a games room, which has a table tennis and a football table, whilst the common room has a TV and a PlayStation 4. Both rooms will host some social events over the year.

Lansdowne Point also seems to be very secure. The reception is manned 24 hours/day, there are turnstiles to get to the flat and CCTV throughout the building. So, you’ll be safe after a long night out at the Old Fire Station, which is situated just across the street.

These new halls are also the first ones that offer catering for 51 pounds per week. So no worries about cooking, just pop downstairs, take your electric card with you and get breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can access a sample menu here. The catering also has its own Starbucks and only uses locally sourced food. However, if you fancy cooking yourself, you still have the kitchen in your flat.

I’ve been told that only 120 BU students will be living in these halls, which include 75 freshers. You guys, are in for a treat!

By Elisabeth Wurzer

Interested in writing for Nerve News next term? Or reading our radio bulletins?
