The askBU team has been even busier than usual this week! There have been lots of questions from those of you wanting to join us this September, so here are some answers…<\/strong><\/p>\n

What is Clearing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clearing is the final part of the university admissions process. It\u2019s organised by UCAS in July and August and is the final opportunity to find a place at university for the coming September. During Clearing, universities will open up their courses with vacancies and accept more students.\u00a0 For more details please click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This year, Clearing at BU starts from Monday 6 July. Please visit the UCAS website<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n

What happens if I don\u2019t meet the conditions of my offer?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please try not to worry too much \u2013 we always look at applications as a whole and not just the academic profile. Your offer is tailored to the subject you have chosen to study, but we\u00a0realise this may not match\u00a0your predicted grades precisely.\u00a0We\u2019ll try to take as many\u00a0new students\u00a0as possible who have achieved the overall tariff score, but may not have achieved the\u00a0exact offer conditions, provided we feel that they stand the best chance of succeeding on the course.<\/p>\n

At this stage, please just focus on your studies. Once you have received your results, feel free to phone us here at askBU<\/a> for further help.<\/p>\n

Please could I transfer to BU in September 2015?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u00a0may\u00a0consider transfers from other universities.\u00a0 All late and Extra applications are now closed, but you will still be able to see which of our courses are available through Clearing.<\/p>\n

I haven\u2019t received my email to confirm payment for my accommodation, have I missed the 48 hour deadline?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u2019re sorry if there has been a slight delay with these emails, but there\u2019s nothing to worry about. The 48 hour deadline will commence from the time you receive the email.\u00a0 For further details please click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I have transferred on to the third year of a degree course. Can I apply for<\/strong> bursaries?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can still apply for bursaries, but you would be classed as a third year student. Bursaries are prioritised for those just starting their degrees, so while you are welcome to apply you would be less likely to get a bursary than a new student would be. If you’re applying for a bursary in any year other than your first, you can apply here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
