My name is Maya Sengupta. I originally applied for Midwifery at a range of different universities including Bournemouth, however, I now study Adult Nursing at Bournemouth University.<\/p>\n

Trying on my skills uniform for the first time<\/p><\/div>\n

I entered BU through clearing as I didn\u2019t get enough UCAS points for the course that I initially wanted but I settled on Nursing as it\u2019s the closest thing to the course I originally wanted, and it was still in the medical field.<\/p>\n

I never attended a Clearing Open Day<\/a> because personally my whole Clearing process felt a bit rushed, and I didn\u2019t have the time to spare. Another factor that affected the Clearing process was trying to find accommodation. Due to getting accepted late, all the student halls accommodation was fully booked for the year. This led to me having to find alternative options for accommodation.<\/p>\n

I was lucky enough to find a room in a 5-bedroom house sharing with a group of second-year students through Facebook. Although this wasn\u2019t the traditional first-year accommodation experience I enjoyed it thoroughly and have managed to get a room in a student accommodation block for the second year so that I have not missed out on that part of my university experience.<\/p>\n

All in all, although this wasn\u2019t what I wanted on results day 2022 I have enjoyed my first year at Bournemouth, despite having some lows and facing some challenges which I\u2019ve learned is common living at university and away from the comfort of home.<\/p>\n

I have made some lifelong friends, made some amazing memories, learned a lot and I joined the trampoline society which helped boost my confidence as well as going to a competition has given me an experience I will never forget.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
