Since a mixture of PG and UG students live in Chesil, there is a perfect balance here. It is easy to make friends and great for the mature student who is looking for a study space and good times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>10 min walk from town centre<\/li>\n<li>10 min bus ride from Talbot campus<\/li>\n<li>5 min walk from ASDA super store<\/li>\n<li>Co-op supermarket on the ground floor<\/li>\n<li>The Lansdowne library is less than a 10 min walk away<\/li>\n<li>10 min walk to the beach<\/li>\n<li>5 min from other accommodation halls in Lansdowne campus<\/li>\n<li>The train station is just 10 min away<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4566\" src=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/postgraduate\/files\/2016\/11\/Chesil-house-common-room-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"chesil-house-common-room\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4565\" src=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/postgraduate\/files\/2016\/11\/Chesil-house-bedroom-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"chesil-house-bedroom\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/>\n<p><strong>Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Movie room<\/strong>: Super fun for just having a relaxing night in and a curry with your flatmate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pool table<\/strong>: We even have a pool tournament now and again.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laundry room<\/strong>: 3 washers and 3 dryers &#8211; \u00a32.20 for washing and \u00a31.50 to dry<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Kitchen<\/strong>: The kitchen is very large with a full sized oven (large enough for a turkey!) and toaster. We have 2 sofas, a fridge, and ample cupboard space for everyone.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Waste storage area:<\/strong> on the ground floor there is a waste storage area which is connected to the building and you won&#8217;t even have to go outside!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Common room<\/strong>: Rather large room with several TV&#8217;s mounted on the walls. The residential life coordinators always host fun events here, like pizza and movie nights or Halloween party etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4567\" src=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/postgraduate\/files\/2016\/11\/Chesil-house-movie-room-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"chesil-house-movie-room\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/>\n<p><strong>My top tips for choosing your ideal accommodation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a pros and cons list for each location: price, size of bed\/cupboard, location, facilities etc.<\/li>\n<li>Use BU&#8217;s website to research more about their housing options &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.bournemouth.ac.uk\/discover\/accommodation\">https:\/\/www1.bournemouth.ac.uk\/discover\/accommodation<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Decide if you would rather be closer to town and further from the campus or vice versa<\/li>\n<li>Be realistic with prices and budget<\/li>\n<li>Look into ways to fund yourself \u2013 part-time work, loan, scholarship, etc\u2026 You won&#8217;t regret working those long summer shifts at the shop or restaurant you hate\u2026 I promise!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>by Lauren Nygren<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 If you need a quiet and mellow place to come home to then Chesil House\u00a0is your place.
