\t\t\t\t\"theodora-yebuah\"<\/a>It\u2019s great to be in the School of Tourism here at BU. My course of study, MSc Tourism Management and Marketing<\/a>, has been nothing short of an exciting roller-coaster ride. Want to know what\u2019s great about it? (Once upon a time\u2026)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Lecturers!<\/strong><\/p>\n

I know what you\u2019re probably thinking, but it\u2019s never true. Fact: lecturers can be fun and exciting and super stars (in their own way\u2026 they surely wouldn\u2019t have hundreds of fans cheering their names but\u2026. Wait, of course it happens! At conferences!). Studying here reading this course is like treating me to a wide mix of the best chocolates in the world.<\/p>\n

Imagine yourself as a student: Mozart teaches you piano, Beyonc\u00e9 teaches you dance lessons and Stephen Hawking teaches you, I don\u2019t know, basic arithmetic \u2013 that\u2019s the exact feeling I have every time I go for class. The \u2018who\u2019s who\u2019 of tourism teach here \u2013 John Fletcher, Adele Ladkin, Stephen Page, Dimitrios Bulahis \u2013 the list goes on and on. If you\u2019ve never studied tourism before, don\u2019t worry – you\u2019ll be in safe hands. Why? Oh, you only have the shapers of the industry teaching you – it\u2019s nothing.<\/p>\n

\"tourism-cover\"<\/a>No exams!<\/strong><\/p>\n

No exams\u2026 (wait, what? whoohoo!) Yeah, no examinations \u2013 that dreaded parasite which claws at the brains of immaculate students \u2013 Yeah, it\u2019s all gone, gone, gone\u2026 (no exams\u2026no exams\u2026 no exams\u2026 feels like I have to keep saying it to remind myself). Nevertheless, the \u2018dynamic duos\u2019 of group and individual assignments lurk in the shadows to constantly remind you that as a student, you still have to be assessed. But it\u2019s all good – you can\u2019t help but have a love-hate relationship with them.<\/p>\n

\"tourism-2\"<\/a>The nights of a potentially sleepy student\u2026 Operation \u2018finish that assignment\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

More international students!<\/strong><\/p>\n

You\u2019d think being in England you should be surrounded by English students in class. Wrong! There are Taiwanese, Chinese, French, Italians, Greeks, Nigerians, Kenyans – a truly international community. If you think you\u2019ll feel lost, there are a lot more people who will be feeling the same way. You\u2019ll never walk alone! (Yes, I\u2019m a LFC fan\u2026and we\u2019re coming back stronger next season! Oh, yeah – GO CHERRIES! #AFCBournemouth)<\/p>\n

At the end of it all, we say goodbye to all the individual and group assignments submitted, go up to Dylan\u2019s and say thank you to our lecturers for making it worthwhile and, \u2018at long last, the battle has ended\u2019. Cheers!<\/p>\n\"tourism-5\"<\/a>\n
