Whatever the source of your feelings, it is important to remember to prioritise your wellbeing, both mental and physical. BU has a variety of wellbeing services available to students which you can make use of should you need to. Here I will give an overview of services available, and how to access them.<\/p>\n<p>If you feel you need urgent help or support you can contact either of the services listed on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouth.ac.uk\/students\/health-wellbeing\/student-wellbeing\/help-information-urgent-support\">this page<\/a>\u00a0or at the top of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouth.ac.uk\/students\/health-wellbeing\/student-wellbeing\">this page<\/a><br \/>\nPlease please please remember: <strong>There is absolutely no shame in asking for help!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouth.ac.uk\/students\/health-wellbeing\/student-wellbeing\">The Student Wellbeing service<\/a> at Bournemouth University is operated in partnership with Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. The support available is confidential, won\u2019t cost you a penny, and is open to all BU students. This has all been adapted slightly due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation which has altered the way in which you can <a href=\"https:\/\/gateway.mayden.co.uk\/referral-v2\/8c12c091-dcc8-41ab-898e-23d4d0b2cf48\">self-refer yourself<\/a> to access the service, however it has definitely <em>not<\/em> changed that support is accessible and available for you to use.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drop in sessions<br \/>\n<\/strong>In light of the pandemic preventing as much face-to-face interaction as possible, Student Wellbeing are now offering a digital drop in service using a video conferencing platform called Attend Anywhere. This is available during term-time from Monday to Friday from 2-3pm and can be accessed <a href=\"https:\/\/england.nhs.attendanywhere.com\/service\/?apikey=57396753-9767-4dd0-baa1-562a57e6073b&amp;nid=jelF9t6%2f\">here<\/a>. Upon <a href=\"https:\/\/england.nhs.attendanywhere.com\/service\/?apikey=57396753-9767-4dd0-baa1-562a57e6073b&amp;nid=jelF9t6%2f\">starting a call<\/a> you will be placed in an online waiting room before an advisor picks up your call when available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wellbeing Advisors and Counselling<br \/>\n<\/strong>These are members of the wellbeing team that can offer practical support with a variety of issues such as stress, feeling overwhelmed, panic, homesickness and much more. You are also able to access support from a counsellor which offers a place to discuss and reflect on any of your problems with a trained professional in a safe and supported environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workshops<br \/>\n<\/strong>Student Wellbeing also run regular workshops which cover topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Boosting your mood<\/li>\n<li>Managing stress and worry<\/li>\n<li>Self esteem<\/li>\n<li>Managing your time<\/li>\n<li>Goal setting<\/li>\n<li>General wellbeing<br \/>\n&#8230; and more. To find out more about these workshops, you can contact either Student Wellbeing service, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouth.ac.uk\/students\/askbu-contact-us\">AskBU<\/a> who will be able to help.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SUBU Advice<br \/>\n<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.subu.org.uk\/support\/advice\/\">SUBU Advice<\/a> provides free, independent, non judgemental and confidential advice and information to all BU students. Talbot campus SUBU Advice is now open (amid the pandemic) for pre booked appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They are also still offering a drop in service from 2-4pm but are asking that students that would like to use this service first email subuadvice@bournemouth.ac.uk in advance.<\/p>\n<p>Along with these services listed, you can also visit a doctor at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouth.ac.uk\/students\/health-wellbeing\/medical-centre\">Talbot Medical Centre<\/a>\u00a0who may be able to help with any physical or mental health problems.
