From the very first introductory trip to Weymouth in first year, right up to doing field work at Hengistbury Head in final year, here is a round-up highlight of the trips you could be a part of if you decide to study Geography at BU, or (any other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouth.ac.uk\/about\/our-faculties\/faculty-science-technology\/our-departments\/department-life-environmental-sciences\">LES<\/a> course as a fair few of the units cross over)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Introductory Trip to Weymouth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This was our first ever field trip at BU, and I remember it because of how great the weather turned out for us! The day involved an introductory talk, followed by a demonstration of some of the maps and artefacts kept by the RGS, and finally a tour of the facilities. The RGS is the UK\u2019s renowned professional body for geography, supporting geography students in a range of ways to boost employability prospects, so a great organisation to be involved with for undergraduate students.<\/p>\n<p>BU&#8217;s BSc (Hons) Geography course has also received accreditation from the RGS with the Institute of British Geographers!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/undergraduate\/files\/2020\/06\/IMG_8656.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-13079 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/undergraduate\/files\/2020\/06\/IMG_8656-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/student-blog\/files\/2020\/06\/IMG_8656-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/student-blog\/files\/2020\/06\/IMG_8656-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/student-blog\/files\/2020\/06\/IMG_8656-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/student-blog\/files\/2020\/06\/IMG_8656.jpg 2040w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a>\n<p><strong>Residential Trip to the Peak District<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This one was definitely one to remember. After a 6-hour coach journey, there were high hopes for the days to come, and it did not disappoint!
