From nights out at The Old Fire Station to strolling along the beach, Bournemouth has it all to offer.

The beach is usually everyone’s first point of call when they arrive, there is just something about the sea air that makes pretty much anyone feel like a small child on their summer holiday again. The great thing about living in Bournemouth means you can experience this everyday if you want to.

Shopping for a girl can be one of the main attractions to any town and Bournemouth has almost any shop you could ask for. From beauty to style if you can’t find what you are looking for in the main town centre then get on the M1 to Castlepoint for more shops to entice you and keep you occupied.

At Christmas, the high street is livened with stalls for the German Market. It’s great for grabbing last minute presents for those difficult family members and filling yourself up with mulled wine at the Moose Bar and Frankfurt sausages. If you are thinking about staying in Bournemouth for the Summer, there are loads of things going on from Bournemouth 7’s in May to weekly parties on the beach.

For those of you who love a good night out, Bournemouth is where it’s at. From the O’Neill’s to Halo (a church converted into a club) there isn’t one place not to try. You can start off with a few pubs, then go to one of the local nightclubs or bars and end your night at 4 in the morning with a Centro pizza (BOGOF!). A night out in Bournemouth is thrilling, tempting and too good to be true.

Restaurants, bars, nightclubs, cafe’s, Bournemouth has it all. If you don’t believe me, come and see for yourself. I’m starting to question why you would consider going anywhere else!

Okay, so in the winter, the weather can get a bit rubbish and you probably won’t want to leave your accommodation to even go to uni but it will all be worth the wind and the rain when you wake up in March with the sun seeping in through the curtains.

You won’t be disappointed, trust me.

By Alice Fiancet 1st year BU student, BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism In Bournemouth there is something for everyone, whether you like the sounds of the city or the great outdoors.
