At SportBU we have a men’s and women’s competitive table tennis team that compete in the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) leagues and trophy competitions.

Leagues & Competition Information

For the 17/18 season our men’s and women’s first team will both compete in Tier 1A (top division in the south west) of the BUCS league as well as the national Trophy competition. Our men’s second team will compete in Tier 2A and the western Conference Cup.

Training & Conditioning

Times: Monday 4.00pm – 5.30pm, Friday 12.00pm – 3.00pm (mixed).

Locations: Studio 1, Talbot Campus.

As part of each team’s weekly training schedule additional specific sessions on flexibility, SAQ (Strength, Agility and Quickness) and fitness are provided by a full time Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Coach. Our coaches work alongside the S&C coach to identify areas to focus this sports specific training to improve physical strength, power and performance.

Fixtures are played on a Wednesday at Bournemouth Sports Table Tennis Club, please come down and support our teams!

Key Achievements

Men’s second team reached quarter finals in Conference Cup 2016/17.

Women’s captain Chloe Thomas won BUCS Individuals 2015/2016.

Scholarship

Athletes who have played or competed at a regional, national or semi-professional standard will be eligible to Apply for a Scholarship to support them in their sport whilst at university.
