TeamBU Sports Brief
At SportBU we have three competitive netball teams that compete in the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) leagues and trophy competitions.
The netball squad are currently coached through experience of the squad. We are in the recruitment stage and would encourage perspective coaches to get in contact. If you would like to find out more about netball opportunities at Bournemouth University please Contact SportBU.
Leagues & Competition Information
For the 17/18 season our first team will compete in Tier 2A of the BUCS League and our second team will compete in Tier 3A. Both teams will also compete in the western Conference Cup. Our third team will compete in Tier 6A and the western Conference Plate.
Training & Conditioning
Times: Tuesday 6.00pm – 7.30pm and Thursday 6.00pm – 8.00pm.
Location: Sports Hall, Talbot Campus and Bishop of Winchester Academy.
As part of each team’s weekly training schedule additional specific sessions on flexibility, SAQ (Strength, Agility and Quickness) and fitness are provided by a full time Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Coach. Our coaches work alongside the S&C coach to identify areas to focus this sports specific training to improve physical strength, power and performance.
Fixtures are played on a Wednesday at Bishop of Winchester Academy, please come down and support our teams!
Introduction of a third team in 2017/18.
Athletes who have played or competed at a regional, national or semi-professional standard will be eligible to Apply for a Scholarship to support them in their sport whilst at university.
