TeamBU Sports Brief

At SportBU we have both men’s and women’s competitive lacrosse teams that compete in the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) leagues and trophy competitions.

Coaching Informationmale-s

Our men’s team is coached by selected students from our USA scholar programme . Our women’s team are coached by Michelle Bray (Level 2 qualified and former International player).

Leagues & Competition Information

For the 17/18 season our men’s team will compete in Tier 1A (top division in the west) of the BUCS league as well as the national Trophy, our men’s second team will compete in Tier 2A and the western Conference Cup. Both our women’s teams will compete in Tier 2B and the western Conference Cup.

Training & Conditioning

Times: Fridays 7.30pm-9pm (men’s), Friday 6.00pm -7.30pm (women’s), Mondays 5.00pm – 6.00pm (mixed), Tuesdays 10.00am-11.00am (mixed).

Location: Bournemouth Sports Club, Chapel Gate.

As part of each team’s weekly training schedule additional specific sessions on flexibility, SAQ (Strength, Agility and Quickness) and fitness are provided by a full time Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Coach. Our coaches work alongside the S&C coach to identify areas to focus this sports specific training to improve physical strength, power and performance.


Fixtures are played on a Wednesday at Bournemouth Sports Club, please come down to support our teams!

Women’s first team Conference Cup finalists 2016/17.


Athletes who have played or competed at a regional, national or semi-professional standard will be eligible to Apply for a Scholarship to support them in their sport whilst at university.
