TeamBU Sports Brief
At SportBU we have both men’s and women’s competitive football teams that compete in the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) leagues and trophy competitions.
Our men’s football programme is managed and delivered by AFC Bournemouth. Our teams benefit from expect professional coaching from Steve Cuss (Head of AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust, UEFA B Licence qualified), Justin Murry (UEFA B Licence qualified, AFCB Women’s Development Team Coach) and Jordan Hayter (Level 2 Licence qualified, AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust coach).
Our women’s team are coached by Chloe Tape (Level 2 qualified, AFCB academy coach, AFCB women’s first team captain) and Andrew Boland (Level 2 qualified).

Leagues & Competition Information
For the 17/18 season our men’s first team will compete in Tier 1A (top division in the west) of the BUCS league as well as the national Trophy competition. Our second team will compete in Tier 2A and the western Conference Cup. Our third team will compete in Tier 4A and fourth team will compete in Tier 7A (both will then compete in the western Conference Plate). Our women’s team will compete in Tier 1A and the national Trophy competition.

Training & Conditioning
Times: Monday 8.00am – 9.30am, Friday 8.00am – 9.30am (men’s), Monday 8.00am – 10.00am and Friday 8.00am – 9.30am (women’s).
Location: Wallisdown playing fields and the 3G Astro Turf Pitches on Talbot Campus.
As part of each team’s weekly training schedule additional specific sessions on flexibility, SAQ (Strength, Agility and Quickness) and fitness are provided by a full time Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Coach. Our coaches work alongside the S&C coach to identify areas to focus this sports specific training to improve physical strength, power and performance.
Fixtures are played on Wednesdays at Bournemouth Sports Club, please come down to support our teams!

BUCS and FA accreditation
Bournemouth University have been awarded Tier 2 FA and BUCS University Grassroots Hub Status. We work in partnership with The FA and BUCS to sustain, grow and develop the grassroots game for students and the local community to inspire every participant to love their experience of football and futsal.

Athletes who have played or competed at a regional, national or semi-professional standard will be eligible to Apply for a Scholarship to support them in their sport whilst at university. Campus League Football
We also run both 11-A-Side and 5-A-Side Football Leagues each term.
New for 2017/18 entry into the Bournemouth FA’s Hayward Sunday league if selected.
