TeamBU Sports Brief
At SportBU we have men’s and women’s competitive basketball teams that compete in the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) leagues and trophy competitions.
The entire Basketball Programme is overseen by Michael Dronyk (Level 3 Advanced England Basketball Award qualified) and he is assisted by Luca Dronyk (Level 2 Qualified) (SportBU Coaches of the year 2016-2017) . Leagues & Competition Information
For the 17/18 season our men’s and women’s first team will both compete in Tier 1A (top division in the west) as well as the national Trophy competition, our men’s second team will compete in Tier 3A, our women’s second team will compete in Tier 2A and both will compete in the western Conference Cup.

Training & Conditioning
Times: Tuesdays 8.00pm – 9.55pm, Sundays 3.00pm – 6.00pm (men’s), Tuesday 8.00pm – 9.55pm, Sunday 1.30pm – 3.00pm (women’s).
Location: Sports Hall, Talbot Campus.
As part of each team’s weekly training schedule additional specific sessions on flexibility, SAQ (Strength, Agility and Quickness) and fitness are provided by a full time Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Coach. Our coaches work alongside the S&C coach to identify areas to focus this sports specific training to improve physical strength, power and performance.
Fixtures are played on Wednesdays in the Sports Hall, Talbot Campus, please come down to support our teams!
Men’s second team reached the semi-final of the Conference Cup 2016/17.
Women’s first team won Tier 1A and made it to Premiership playoffs 2016/17,
Partnerships & Facilities
Partnership club: South Coast Tigers.
Athletes who have played or competed at a regional, national or semi-professional standard will be eligible to Apply for a Scholarship to support them in their sport whilst at university.
