Getting fit has never been easier with SportBU!
Our Xpress, early morning, lunch and evening classes make it easy to fit in a workout around your lectures or in your lunch break. All of the 50+ group fitness classes are free with the all-inclusive SportBU Memberships. Classes can be attended on a Pay As You Go (PAYG) basis, and prices start from £2.50. Classes based at the Lansdowne are only £2 or as with all our group fitness sessions, free for members.
Get the best out of your group fitness experience
Here are some handy tips to help you get the best out of your class:
- Bring water and a towel to all classes
- Wear appropriate clothing and trainers to all classes
- Pre-book on to classes* – you can do this at SportBU reception, over the phone and Online – members can also use the Fast Track Kiosk in reception
- Ensure you arrive on time for classes – admission will be refused if you are more than 5 minutes late for a class
- Collect your receipt from reception and give to the instructor prior to the start of each class
- Classes can be booked up to 7 days in advance
- Remember that 24 hours’ notice is needed for refunds to be issued to Pay As You Go customers.

A fun-filled class with a variety of dance styles designed to work your whole body.
An intense full body class split into equal parts of high intensity cardiovascular work and muscular endurance conditioning.
This is a high intensity interval training workout. Great for improving fitness fast.
Legs, Bums & Tums
An easy to follow class, starting with a blast of aerobics and then exercises that focus on the legs, buttocks and abdominals.
A holistic exercise system that works by combining slow and powerful, yet precise movements with specific breathing patterns to improve postural alignments, strength, flexibility, muscular balance and core stability.
A fusion of pilates and yoga. Great for conditioning and flexibility.
A high repetition barbell class that strengthens and tones your entire body.
A high intensity, full body workout using the techniques and movements from Thai boxing. This class includes punches, elbows, kicks and knees as well as abdominal work.
Total Body Conditioning
A high intensity easy to follow conditioning class. A great mix of upper and lower body work finishing off with a blast of abs.
Trim and Tone
A traditional aerobics based class which focuses on trimming up the traditional problem areas.
Xpress Abs & Core
A 30-minute class focusing on exercises that work the abdominal area and improve your core stability.
A high energy, indoor 30-minute cycling class with a mixture of hills and sprints whilst you control the resistance. It’s a great cardiovascular workout.
A relaxing class that helps improve flexibility, posture and balance.
An exciting fusion of interval training and dance influenced steps; including salsa, merengue and samba. Full of Latin zest and fun for everyone.
